Puyallup New Car Dealers donate $13,000 to Breast Cancer Resource Center

Puyallup, WA October 18, 2011:

In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the eleven Puyallup New Car Dealers have donated $13,000 to the local Breast Cancer Resource Center. The donation follows the recent Wallup in Puyallup weekend car and truck sale, where $50 of each vehicle sale was earmarked for BCRC.

Breast Cancer Resource Center is a local organization dedicated to assisting women with breast cancer through information to newly diagnosed patients, counseling and classes, and wigs and prosthetics regardless of the insurance status of the patient. Over 7,000 women annually are helped from the Tacoma center through the belief that "no one should have to face breast cancer alone."

In addition, KIRO/97.3-FM has donated an advertising campaign for BCRC.

Contributor to Reflection Park

Between Sept. 15 and Dec. 15, 2008, Toyota of Puyallup along with the 14 other Puyallup automotive dealers donated $10 for every vehicle they sold to the Reflection Park project at Fort Lewis, a $6 million undertaking to honor fallen American service members from every military branch and every major conflict since World War I.

Reflection Park, which broke ground last July 2008, is being constructed on six acres at Fort Lewis and will adjoin a four-acre memorial park dedicated to brigade-sized monuments. Names of fallen soldiers with ties to Washington state will be inscribed on large basalt markers, and a computerized kiosk will be installed where visitors can look up information.

Over its three-month fundraising timeline, the association raised $30,020.00.
