2019 Kia Optima vs 2019 Toyota Camry

2019 Kia Optima vs 2019 Toyota Camry

Sedan options may be thinning out there, but the Kia Optima is still very popular among car buyers. You can easily see why when you compare it to the competition. See what we mean as we put the Optima up against another industry veteran with our 2019 Kia Optima vs 2019 Toyota Camry comparison. These two models have a lot in common when looking at the basics. They have four doors, seating for five, and a low-profile. One thing they do not share is style. The Optima is refined, elegant, and one of the best-looking sedans out there. The Camry looks confused, oddly proportioned, and simply weird.

If that sells you on the Optima alone, then check out our inventory in Puyallup with the link below. Otherwise, keep reading to see how these two models really compare.

Is the Optima better than the Camry?

The Kia Optima is an immensely fun model, but it is also very affordable. With a base price nearly $1,000 less than the Camry, it’s the smart choice. That price gap only gets wider as you go up in trim level with the top Optima SX Turbo coming in at nearly $3,000 less than the top Camry XSE.

Speaking of style, the Optima gives you a gorgeous look right out the gate with alloy wheels standard on every model including the base LX model. The Camry, despite its higher price tag, kicks alloy wheels to the curb in favor of heavier and less stylish steel wheels on its base L trim. Which would you rather have? We hope the answer is obvious.

Though both models can handle 5 passengers, the Optima gives you way more interior room and comfort. In fact, when comparing the base models, the Optima has over 20 cubic-feet of extra room. That’s a huge difference. Believe it or not, the gap increases further as you go up in trim. The Optima stays the same, but the Camry loses a cubic-foot in the interior. Also, the Optima gives you 1.8 cubic-feet of extra cargo room in the trunk. What’s not to love?

Of course, the Optima also gives you a better warranty, but you probably already knew about that. In fact, if you buy a new Kia at Kia of Puyallup, we will double that warranty and provide car washes and oil changes for life. Learn more or request more info with the link below.
